Rest well my friend. You will be missed by all who had the privilege of calling you friend. We did have some great times together on the CCSD. Even the time we parked the patrol car on it 's top in a ditch in Pennsylvania. I will see you on the other side.

Carl was a wonderful man. Thank you Jenny, for always inviting me to see him when he visited you. I will forever remember his love for his family and friends - which was genuine, strong and constant. There was always a sparkle in his eyes when he was surrounded by family and friends. Carl was a man whose values and priorities guided him and because I had the good fortune to be in his company, they influenced me as well.
A conversation with Carl was like coming home. I sure will miss him and my life was enriched by having known him.
Heart-felt condolences to Jenny and Eric and their families. A special condolence to Tracey as well.
- Fondly, Cathy Armstrong

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Carl's loved ones. Carl was a good friend of both of my late husbands John and Paul, and therefore a friend of mine. My hubby John and my brother Lew worked with Carl at the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Dept. for many years. In fact, Carl and Dale called John about 3 years ago to remind him that he was the oldest deputy left from the early 1960's era. John hadn't realized it until they called him!! I always loved all of the stories I heard about the "early days" and all of the shenanigans that the guys were involved in. Carl could tell a story like nobody else could. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. I always felt it a privilege to know Carl. I'm sure that Carl has been having a grand reunion on the other side with all who preceded him. I am holding all of Carl's loved ones in my heart and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. May all the wonderful memories that Carl left with you bring you comfort and peace.

I just saw this. Carl graduated with my brother, Tom. I remember hearing of some of their escapades. It seems like Tom & Carl took off in my parents car, when they were about 13. I worked with Carl at the Sheriff's Department for ten years & always knew I could count on him to help out in any way possible. No doubt he will be greatly missed by family & friends. He was a great man.

To Carl's Family, Ken and I would like to express our deepest sympathy. We have known Carl for many years. We spent many hours at the Westfield Moose with him and Ronnie Hess sharing numerous stories of they're past. He was always smiling and we will remember his great sense of humor. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy. We were privileged to have known him. Ken and Jo Ann Belcher

I first met Carl in 1973. At the time, I had just been hired as a Deputy Sheriff and Carl was a Sergeant-Investigator. I learned very quickly that he was a cop's cop and a man who was highly-respected by his peers. Carl was an extremely talented and tenacious law enforcement officer.....qualities that he carried with him throughout his career. If you were a "bad guy", you wouldn't want to have Carl Behm on your "trail". You would be pursued, apprehended, convicted and sent to prison. Carl, along with his partners, were some of the most-gifted criminal investigators that I ever knew. It was my distinct honor to have known and worked with them over the years. The mantra back then was working hard and then playing with equal enthusiasm. None of that was lost on Carl Behm.
