Norma Henris Burnside of Portland, NY passed away on Thursday, May 27,2O21 at the St Vincent, Hospitalin Erie, Pa. She was born in Dunkirk, NY the daughter of the late John and Leonore (Polinski)Szocki. Norma graduated from Dunkirk High School. She owned and operated Norma's Beauty Salon in Portland. She also was the former owner of Charlotte's Webb's Ladies Apparel in Northeast, Pa. Her memberships included St. Dominic's RC Church where she was an active member in the Altar Rosary Society, Member of Westfield Womenof the Moose lodge & Brocton-Portland Senior Citizens Club, Fredonia Garden Club, Portland Fire Department women's auxiliary and former Gray lady at Westfield Memorial Hospital. Norma enjoyed dancing and bowling. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Norma is survived by three children, a son, William "Bill" Henris, two daughters, Sharon (late David) Markham and Susan (Tim) Wagner all of Portland; six cherished grandchildren, Molly (Neil) Agrasto, Kayce (Peter) Miller, Corey (Laura)Markham, Joshua (Marissa) Markham, Stephanie (Andy) Fochtman and Shawn (Kevin) Henris; seven great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Linda (John) Murgatroyd of Fredonia, NY, Brenda Merrill of Brocton, NY and Deborah (Tom) Moore of Lakewood, NY; a step-son, Doug (Lisa) Burnside of The Villages, FL; five step-grandchildren and ten great-step-grandchildren; also several nieces & nephews. ln addition to her parents Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Henris (1985) and her second husband, Wilfred Burnside (2012), two sisters, Joan Cuddy and Lorraine Szocki, two brothers, John Szocki and Kenneth Szocki. As per Norma's wishes services will be private. Memorial contributions in Norma's memory may be made to St. Dominic's RC Church 15 Union St. Westfield, NY 14787 or the Portland Volunteer Fire Department 6841W. Main St, Portland, NY 14769.
