PORTLAND - Rickey D. Schroen, age 57, of Portland,NY, died unexpectedly Friday, September 18, 2015 at Brooks Memorial Hospital. Mr. Schroen was born September 26, 1957 in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late Henry and Mildred (Crowell) Schroen. Rickey married his sweetheart, Lori LeBarron, on October 24, 1987 in Westfield, NY, and together they raised two wonderful boys. Following his high school graduation from Brocton Central School, Rickey began working for the former Red Wing company, also Carriage House Co.'s and finally Con Agra in Fredonia, NY ending as a line-operator after its closure for 37 years. Rickey enjoyed playing pool and bowling which he belonged to several leagues for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, tinkering with and repairing small engines but most of all, spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Lori and their two sons: Richard and Adam Schroen, one brother, Larry (Jennifer) Schroen of Westfield, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 22nd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Gordon Spiller, from the Portland Congregational Church, officiating.
