WESTFIELD - Everette J. Reynolds, Sr., age 87, of Crandall St., Westfield, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Corry Manor Nursing Home of Corry, PA, following a brief illness. Everette was born on August 26, 1926 in Mina, NY, a son of the late Chester A. and Lula (Gabriel) Reynolds. He served in the US Army during World War II from 1945 until 1946 attaining the Rank of T-5. Everette was a Westfield resident most all his life, and had worked for Welch Foods at the Westfield plant for many years starting as a truck driver and retiring from the Maintenance Dept. in the late 1980's after 37 years of service. He had been a 48 year member of the Fire Department of Westfield, Hook and Ladder Company, a long time Captain of the Fire Police and a Past President and life member of the Chautauqua County Fire Police Association. He had also been active with the Westfield Exempt Firemen's Assoc. and had served as their Vice President. Everette was well known as the" Waffle Expert" for the Exempts annual Ox Roast. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by his son, E. John Reynolds, Jr. of Westfield, NY, his three grandchildren, Jennifer Cambria of Fredonia, NY, Jacklyn Reynolds of Erie, PA and Jessica Reynolds of Westfield, NY. He is further survived by his Great Grandson, Rylan Cambria of Fredonia, NY. and his sister, Jane Risley of Corfu, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Rexford Reynolds, whom he married on August 9, 1953 and who died on January 20, 2011 and by his brother, Ernest E. Reynolds. Friends may call on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY from 4:00 PM until the time of Funeral Services there at 7:00 PM with Rev. Charles Robertson of the West Portland Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight Buffalo, PO Box 338, Buffalo, NY 14223 or to the Fire Department of Westfield Memorial Fund, 23 Elm Street, Westfield, NY 14787.
