Obituary of Betty J. Alonge

WESTFIELD - Betty J. (Raynor) Alonge, age 87, of Westfield, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Absolut Care of Westfield. Betty was born on October 11, 1926 in Westfield, NY, the daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn (VanCise) Raynor. Betty was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, the Wm. P Jackway Post 6764 VFW Auxiliary, and a former member of Women of The Moose Chapter 517. Betty had been a Westfield resident all her life. She attended Westfield Academy and Central Schools, and had been employed by the School Cafeteria for many years retiring in 1986. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, animals and her pets. However, Betty loved being around and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were very special and important to her. Betty is survived by three daughters: Kimberly A. Abbey of Westfield, NY, Jeanne J. Ruch of Westfield, NY, and Yvonne E. Dellatore of Erie, PA and six sons: Frank J. Alonge, Jr. of Joliette, IL, Nicky J. Alonge of Westfield, NY, James Clute of Ft. Pierce, FL, Timothy M. Clute of Westfield, NY, Clarence B. Clute of Westfield, NY, Kenneth H. Clute of Mayville, NY. Betty is also survived by 23 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren, and a special Niece, Jennifer Calarco June. Betty is further survived by her sister Alberta Stillman and her brother: Albert Raynor of Ft. Pierce, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband , Frank J. Alonge, Sr., whom she married on June 4, 1961 and who died on July 24, 1976, and by her son, Daniel "Danny" Lee Clute, and her sister, Dorothy Calarco. At Betty's request, no calling hours will be observed and all services will be private. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
