Obituary of Joyce G. Parke

WESTFIELD - Joyce G. (Garrison) Parke, age 84, of Westfield, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at home. Joyce was born on June 12, 1928 in Silver Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Isaac Mark and Haizelle (Mix) Garrison. A Westfield native, she was a graduate of Westfield Academy and completed her Teaching degree in Elementary Education at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. While residing in Baldwin MO, she taught in the St. Louis, Missouri Public Schools system for many years. She and her late husband, Earl, returned to Westfield in the early 1984 and settled into retirement. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Assoc., The Abigail Fillmore Chapter of the DAR, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants-Buffalo Chapter and First Presbyterian Church and Society of Westfield. She enjoyed reading and American History and collected Teddy Bears. She is survived by her niece, Nancy Rowell of Conway, AR, her two nephews, Roy (Chris) Latham of Ft. Worth, TX and Robert Latham of Dallas, TX, as well as her friends and special neighbors in Westfield. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Earl C. Parke, whom she married on July 12, 1958 and who died on April 1, 1988. At Joyce's request all services were private and burial was on the Garrison family lot in Quincy Rural Cemetery in Ripley, NY.
