WESTFIELD - Robert R. Witmer, age 71, of Bourne St., Westfield, formerly of Brocton, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA. Robert was born on March 14, 1940 in Picture Rocks, PA, the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Wertz) Witmer. A Brocton resident for most of his life, Robert had been employed by Nestle Purina Pet Care Company for over 25 years first at the Oklahoma City Plant and then at the Dunkirk facility, where he retired from in 1991as a General Supervisor. Following his retirement from Purina he had been employed by the former Waters of Westfield in the maintenance department. He had lived in Fayetteville, NC for several years before coming home to Chautauqua County in September of this year. He enjoyed Moto-Cross, Dune-Buggy Racing, NASCAR and Football. He was a hard working family man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor. Bob proudly served his Country in the US Army from 1957 to 1960. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Norma (Hill) Witmer, his two daughters: Linda (Bobby) Renock of Evansville, IN, and Kiona (Kevin) Callahan of Westfield, NY and his four sons: Eugene (Rose) Witmer of Statesville, NC, David Witmer of Evansville, IN, Michael Witmer of Watsontown, PA, and Mark (Amy) Witmer of Hahari, GA. Bob is further survived by his many grandchildren and several great grandchildren as well as by his sister, Marjorie Jamison, his two brothers, Eugene and Larry Witmer of Watsontown, PA, and by his daughter In Law, Betty Witmer. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Witmer, his grandson, Kevin Callahan, Jr., and his brother, Arthur Witmer. Friends may call on Saturday December 3, 2011 at the MASON FUNERAL HOME, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY from 12 noon until the time of serves there at 2:00 PM with Rev. Vincent Sanzo officiating.
