Obituary of Doris Hanes

WESTFIELD - Doris (Feidler) Hanes, age 83, of Westfield, NY, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, PA. Doris was born on December 29, 1927 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Kohn) Feidler. She was born and raised in Chicago, moved to western New York, and graduated from North Tonawanda High School. She moved to Westfield from Lockport, NY, where she and her late husband Donald had been engaged in farming. A Westfield resident since 1980, she and Donald, had owned and operated the KOA on East Lake Road for many years where they received several accolades for their customer friendly environment and meticulously groomed camp ground. Doris enjoyed sewing, quilting, rug braiding and her family. She greatly enjoyed visiting with her many friends at the camp ground in Westfield. She retired from Westfield Lake Erie Kamp Ground in 1991. She is survived by her sons: Duane (Susan) C. Hanes of Wilson, NY, Dennis K. Hanes of Westfield, NY, and Drew (Mary) A. Hanes of Springville, NY, her grandchildren, Nathan and Rachel Hanes of Westfield and Kelly Pfarner of Springville, NY,. 3 Great Grandchildren also survive. Besides her husband, Donald L. Hanes, who died in 2008, she was preceded in death by her Son, Dale Lewis Hanes and her brother, LeRoy Feidler. Friends may call on Thursday November 3rd from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield with Rev. Thayne Bodenmiller officiating.
