Obituary of Betty J Wilmarth

WESTFIELD - Betty (Cardinal) Wilmarth, age 80, of North Gun Club Road, Westfield, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Absolut Care of Westfield following an extended illness. Betty was born on October 12, 1934 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Henry E. and Olive (Mansfield) Cardinal. Mrs. Wilmarth was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Society of Westfield. A Westfield area resident most all her life, Betty was a 1953 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School. She had been employed in the offices of both Welch Foods and the former C&E Telephone companies, both in Westfield. Betty had been the co-owner, along with her husband Robert, of Cardinal Liquors on Portage Street for many years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and taking care of her home. She had traveled to New Zealand and Scandinavia and had visited many of the United States. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Robert Wilmarth, whom she married on November 20, 1954 in Westfield, and by her daughter, Jody Wilmarth of Little Falls, NY. Betty was the proud grandmother of Makayla Golem and Ethan Golem both of Liverpool, NY. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Cardinal. Friends may call on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 11AM until 1 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, and are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM in Union Cemetery, with Rev.
