Obituary of William H. Field

WESTFIELD - William H. "Bud" Field, age 90, of West Main Rd., Westfield, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at home. William "Bud" was born on May 19, 1924 in Salamanca, NY, the son of the late Arthur H. and Carolyn J. (Ross) Field. A Westfield resident since 1974, "Bud" was a graduate of Randolph High School. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1942-1946. Bud had been the owner of Field Engine Rebuilding Equipment Co. of Kingston, NH and had an additional sales office in Syracuse, NY. Prior to that he had been a foreman for National Distillers Chemical Co. in Ashtabula, OH. He was a life member of the St. Cloud, FL, VFW Post 2427 and had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Brattleboro, VT. Bud liked sports of all kinds and had been a Boxer when he was in the Navy. He enjoyed traveling. He is survived by his brother Ross Field of Sherman, NY, and by his nieces and nephews that include; Edd and Ross Fleckenstein, Janet Davies, Marcia Meeder, Bill Meeder, Mike Field, Dianne Sasso, Steve Field and Howie and Charlie Raven. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion(Davis) Field who died on Nov. 22, 2002,and by his 3 sisters, Joan Fleckenstein, Amy Meeder and Margaret Raven. At Bud's request there will be no services.
