Steven R. Gens

January 5, 1972 – July 9, 2026

Steven R. Gens, 54, of Westfield, NY passed away on Thursday afternoon July 9, 2026 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa after complications from a kidney transplant.

He was born on January 5, 1972 in Dunkirk, NY the son of the late Richard and Theora (Degolier) Gens.

Steve graduated from Fredonia High School in 1990.He worked in the wine industry most of his adult life with more than  32 years of service at Mogen David Wine Corporation in Westfield, NY before it ceased operations locally.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching the NY Yankees.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 31 years Rhonda A. (Claus) Gens of Westfield, NY; his loving children, Cory R. Gens of Seneca Falls, NY, Bret M. Gens of Westfield, NY and Jennifer Hires of Ashville, NC; a cherished grandson, Zayne Gens; four brothers, Byron Gens of Westfield, NY, Rex Gens of Brocton, NY, Kerry Gens of Fl. and Carl Gens of Gowanda, NY; also survived by several nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Alan, and Mark Gens.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the future date and time to be announced.
