Reda Marie Hoth Obituary

Heaven gained a special angel with the passing of Reda Lafave Hoth, December 30 at her daughter’s home in South Carolina where she resided.

Reda was born April 15, 1927 in Churbusco, NY to the late Huldege and Eglantine (Yell) Lefebre. Reda lost her mother at age nine and even though they were often separated, she always remained close to her siblings. She and her father moved from the farm in 1943 to Buffalo, where she helped watch nieces and nephews until she went to work in a factory during the war. She married Nicholas Riscili in 1945 and moved to Westfield in 1949. She moved to Virginia and Florida with her second husband, Malcolm Hoth whom she married in 1982, returning to Westfield where she remained until moving south. She loved Westfield, having breakfast at the diner or Julie’s, attending St Peter’s Episcopal Church, being a life time member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries and selling poppies well into her nineties. She loved to play cards, especially pinochle and was still teaching others. She enjoyed watching her grand and great grand children participate in sports, musicals, plays etc. She had a great work ethic, was in good shape, at age fifty she played on a softball team with her two daughters. She took great pride in her appearance and was usually spotted wearing a hat. She is survived by her sister, Grace Dupree of Plattsburgh, NY, sisters-in-law Pauline and Madeline Riscili, her son Joseph Riscili of Pineville, LA, daughters, Linda Thomas of Belleview, FL and Roxanne (Dann) Riscili-Wilson of Fountain Inn, SC.
