Obituary of Richard Rotunda

WESTFIELD - Richard K. "Rick" Rotunda, age 62, of Beckman Ave., Westfield, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital following a brief illness after being stricken at home.

Rick was born on December 4, 1954 in Westfield, NY, the son of Richard C. Rotunda of Westfield and the late Joann (Murphy) Rotunda.

A Westfield resident all his life, Rick was a 1973 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School. He had been employed as a Machinist with Ajax Flexible Couplings and retired from Renold Inc. in 2016 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the IAM Local 1555.

Rick enjoyed walking, riding his bicycle, golf, shooting, traveling the United States on his Motorcycle, and was a cigar aficionado. He was a member of the LOOM #118, the VFW, The Sons of the American Legion all of Westfield, as well as the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club of Dunkirk. Rick as a very social person who enjoyed being around his many friends and his family. His unique sense of humor and laugh will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Richard C. and Roberta (Emory) Rotunda of Westfield, his sister, Ann (Peter) Eckman of Fredonia, NY and his brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Rotunda of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Rick was the proud uncle of, Jacob Eckman of Fredonia, and Harrison and Christopher Rotunda of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joann (Murphy) Rotunda who died on July 25, 1990.

Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial

on Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic RC Church, 15 Union Street, Westfield, NY. Burial will be private in St. James Cemetery.
