WESTFIELD – Mrs. Jennie C. Vilardo, age 102, of Walker Rd., Westfield, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 surrounded by her family at The Lutheran Home of Jamestown. Jennie was born on April 23, 1914 in Norwalk, OH, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mamie (Cossada) Ciminnisi. She married Carl Vilardo, Sr. on November 23, 1932 in North East, PA. Mr. Vilardo preceded her in death on December 8, 1972. She has lived in Westfield on Walker Road since she was 18 years old. She was the family matriarch and assisted her late husband on the Vilardo family farm. Jennie was active on the farm until her 96th birthday. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was a faithful member and communicant of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church and a life member of the Church's Altar and Rosary Society. She also had belonged to the Women of The Moose Chapter 517 of Westfield. She is survived by two daughters: Mary Jane (Nathaniel) Kirkland of Edinburg, VA and Joanne Seamans of Crestline, OH, and by her daughter in law, Roberta Vilardo of Westfield. Jennie was the proud grandmother of, Cathy, Carl III, Lisa, Keith, Laurie, Sheila and Julie. 12 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Vilardo, Sr., her son, Carl Vilardo, Jr., her 4 brothers, Joseph, Frank, Sam and Jim Ciminnisi, and by her 3 sisters, Sally Canella, Josephine Rhodes, and Mamie Ciminnisi. Friends may call on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 3-5PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 15 Union Street, Westfield, NY with Msgr. Albert Clody officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. A Rosary will be Prayed on Sunday at 3 PM at the Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined due to severe family allergies.
