Elizabeth A. (Learn) Rothwell, age 77, of East Main Rd., Fredonia, NY, died Monday, May 9, 2016 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Hospital of Erie, PA following a very brief illness. Elizabeth was born on February 8, 1939 in Hinsdale, NY, the daughter of the late Harley and Mildred (Lockwood) Learn. She attended Schools in Hinsdale prior to residing in Chautauqua County. She had been employed for 41 years at The Resource Center, in Dunkirk, as a work Center Supervisor, where she assisted and supervised the Center's workers. She was recognized by Sen. Cathy Young for her 41 years of dedicated service upon her retirement. Elizabeth was a member of Women of The Moose Chapter 294 of Dunkirk, where she held every office including Senior Regent. She was a woman with unconditional love for others. Elizabeth was an accepting, loving and unbiased person. She could find the good in everyone. Her family was everything to her; she made a loving home for her children, grandchildren and family. She loved family birthdays and holidays, especially Christmas. She was supportive of and participated in the Relay for Life, the Laurel Run and the charities of the Moose. She would go out of her way to assist with and attend community benefits for others. Elizabeth was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and had a great sense of humor. She was a meticulous home maker and was proud of how she kept her yard. She is survived by her two daughters: Lisa (Peggy) M. Rothwell of Dunkirk and Debra (Steve) Thompson of Dewittville, NY and by her three sons: Timothy (Sandy) Rothwell of Harmony, PA, Jeffrey Rothwell of Jamestown, NY and Randy (Frankie) Rothwell of Mayville, NY. 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her sister, Madalin Storms, and by her 3 brothers, Lawrence "Bub" Learn and Kenneth and Hershel Learn, as well as by her former Husband, Gordon N. Rothwell. Friends may call on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, and are invited to attend the Funeral Services there at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14, 2016 with Ginger Pokoj as Leader. Private Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery.
