David A. Kester 10/12/2007 - David A. Kester, 56, of 45 1/2 Washington St., Westfield, died accidentally Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007. He was born in Westfield on Oct. 31, 1950, the son of Arthur and Arlene Farnham Kester. David was employed in quality control at Better Baked Foods for 15 years, retiring due to a disability. He was previously employed at Welch Food for 10 years. David served in the U.S. Army for three years during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Pentagon. His memberships include the Wm. P. Jackway Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6764 and John W. Rogers American Legion Post 327. He was also a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose. David was especially proud of his son, Dustin, and was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed all sports. He is survived by his son, Dustin (Joy) Kester of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Terry Kester of Chesapeake, Va.; and a sister, Kathy (Phil) Libraro of Chesapeake, Va. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Mason Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the VFW, Westfield. A private graveside committal service will be held in the Westfield Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Henry, pastor of the West Portland Baptist Church, will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Westfield Veterans of Foreign Wars or to the American Legion.
