WESTFIELD - Russell L. Houser, age 77, of Felton Rd., Westfield, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his family, following an extended illness. Russell was born on June 20, 1938 in Chickasaw, PA, a son of the late Theodore and Helen (Swartz) Houser. He married Margaret Leamer in July of 1957. She preceded him in death on September 26, 1981. Russell attended school in Sherman, NY and moved to Westfield in the mid 1960's. He had been employed at Ethan Allen in Mayville for 17 years and had also owned and operated a Grape Farm on East Forest Ave. in Westfield for many years. Russell enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of auto racing; and a huge fan of Dodge Automotive products and MOPAR. Survivors include his daughter: Rhonda (Bobby) Landon of Ashville, NC, his two sons: Rodney E. Houser and Raymond (Shawmarie) T. Houser both of Westfield, NY and his 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Russell is further survived by his 2 sisters: Donna (Charlie) Hunt of Westfield, NY and Linda (Ed) Kelley of Canal Winchester, OH and by his four brothers: Darl (Jackie) Houser of Ft. Orange, FL, Harry (Judy) Houser of North East, PA, Larry (Anna Mae) Houser and Charles (Sally) Houser of Westfield, NY. Besides his parents and wife, Russell was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sabrina Marie Houser and by his 2 brothers, Theodore and William Houser as well as by his sister, Helen Mekus. Friends may call on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2-4 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY and are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 4 PM with Pastor Brett Davis of Hope Rising Church of Brocton officiating. Burial will be private. Flowers are gratefully declined and the Houser family suggests memorial contribution be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750 or to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy., Amherst, NY 14228.
