RIPLEY - Patrick William Tyczkowski, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 18, 2015. A resident of Ripley, NY, he was born in Erie, PA on June 29, 1947 the son of the late Alois and Mary (Ondus) Tyczkowski. After serving our country as a U.S. soldier in the Vietnam War, Patrick worked as a locomotive welder at General Electric in Erie. A lifelong Bob Dylan fan, Patrick was also a voracious reader and enjoyed listening to books on tape. He loved animals and donated generously to charities. Patrick was a devoted husband, father, and friend who found great joy in helping those in need. Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Tykowski, six stepchildren, Eric (Mary), Mark (Barbara), Kevin (Tammy), Christopher (Patricia), Lisa, and Jennifer Lancaster, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Along with his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maxine and several siblings. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 24 at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY 14787. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23453 or to the Buffalo City Mission, 100 East Tupper St., Buffalo, NY 14203.
