Obituary of Marshall J. Everts

A Westfield resident most all his life, he was a graduate of Westfield Academy class of 1943. he enlisted in the US Army Aircorp during WW II and attained the Rank of 2nd Lt. And retired from the Army Aircorp reserves with the rank of Captain in 1959. Following his discharge from active service, he came back to Westfield and worked at the former Riley´s Garage. He later opened E & N Body Shop on West Main St. then in 1956 he started the areas first Mercury Dealership on West Main Road that later turned out to be Beckman and Everts Ford and Mercury where he retired from in 2001 after more than 50 years of service. He provided the automobiles for the Westfield Academy Student Driver Program for many years. He was very active in the Westfield community both civicaly and in Business. An accomplished aviator, In 1960 he purchased his first airplane a 1948 Stinson and not long after he replaced that with a Beech Craft Bonanza of which he had several. He had a true love of flying. He enjoyed golf and NASCAR Racing.
