Obituary of Judith A. Shrieve

MAYVILLE - Judith A. Shrieve, age 80, of East Evans St., Mayville, NY, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at home following an extended illness. Judith was born on January 18, 1935 in Oil City, PA, the daughter of the late George and Pearl Irene (Warner) Mason. A Westfield area resident most all her life, she grew up on the family grape farm on Rogerville Road and was married to Gordon W. Lehman for many years. She then married Emerson "Sandy" Shrieve and enjoyed a wonderful life until his accidental death in 1996. She was an accomplished seamstress, and had been employed at the former Westfield sewing factory, the former Barmon Brothers Sewing factory and Rossmor Industries sewing factory in Twinsburg, OH. Her passion for sewing spilled over to her home, where she made many of her children's clothing when they were younger. She had also been employed by the Westfield Moose Lodge for several years. Judy enjoyed the outdoors and liked to help out on the grape farm whenever she could. She was an avid golfer and loved to read. She is survived by her daughter: Lynn (Jon) A. Coe of Brocton, NY and her two sons: Darrin Lehman of Brocton and Timothy G. (Deborah Bernard) Lehman of Cherry Creek, NY. Judy is further survived by her 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as by her brothers, Jerry Mason of Alaska and Ted "Sonny" Mason of Westfield, NY. Judith was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Mason, and by her first husband, Gordon Lehman and her second husband, Emerson Shrieve. Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 from 12 noon until the time of services there at 1 PM with Rev. Cathy Smith, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be private.
